Caitlin Allen believes that the future of education in the digital world lies in peer learning and supported self-education. New technologies have enabled unprecedented access to information and provided avenues to empowerment for young people worldwide. With her project Beyond Ideas: Equipping Youth to Lead Next-Generation Policy, Allen intends to facilitate young people across Ireland to understand how policy is made and implemented, thus empowering them to become agents of change and engaging policymakers with confidence.
“Being part of the network of Eisenhower Fellows and receiving mentorship would enable me to absorb a wealth of ideas and experiences. With this learning, I could confidently take the next steps in my career and work on being an effective leader for other young people seeking to make positive change.”
