Navneet Prakash Singh is utilizing his Masters in Social Work to empower disadvantaged communities in various slums of India. Singh successfully led a project to supply clean drinking water in Delhi’s Bhadarpur Khadar village. Singh hopes to position the marginalized youth in India to be on the path to socioeconomic mobility by improving their access to technical trainings and institutional finance.
“It is fantastic to become part of the global EF network to pool resources, knowledge & expertise from across the world for undertaking meaningful & viable projects for the socially disadvantaged groups in India especially the Dalit communities. I can enhance my worldview, knowledge & expertise by observing & learning from this network of accomplished leaders.”
Navneet Singh’s ‘SMART Village’ project is part of an initiative focused on holistic rural development. Navneet Singh visited villages and provides a very detailed description of all aspects of village life. Working with MyGov, Singh was then able to run a summer internship, requiring young people to visit villages and improve sanitation. His report provides detailed information of this initiative and makes recommendations for the future of Indian villages.
