Wardah Rafaqat

Pakistan 2020

Currently studying for her bachelor of medicine and surgery at Aga Khan University Hospital, Wardah Rafaqat believes that impact begins with us. She is the founder of Daisy, an organization seeking to dispel the taboo surrounding menstrual hygiene in Pakistan, by holding awareness camps for young girls and developing and providing low cost, biodegradable sanitary napkins. Daisy brings a doctor or medical student to these camps to provide medical care if necessary and to convey the warning signs that should prompt the attendees to seek medical attention.

“Being an Eisenhower Youth Leader will provide me with opportunities and mentorship. Moreover, it will place me in a position where I can be of similar assistance to individuals seeking to solve problems existing around them.”
